BENI OUARAIN rug :

In Morocco, there is a group of people, named the Beni Ourain, from seventeen different Berber tribes. It is a custom there to pass down ancient weaving techniques from mother to daughter to preserve them. The wool used for the weaving of the Beni Ourain rugs comes directly from the sheep and the goats in the area these people live. 

Beni Ourain rugs are woven from the natural ivory sheep wool that covers the sheep's body, the pattern is woven from the wool on the sheep's head, it looks black, but it is not, it is either dark brown, light brown, dark gray, or light gray. Sheep with jet black wool on their heads are rare.
